How the picture-first lessons work
Each lesson starts with one high-frequency Chinese character, then pairs it with pinyin, a plain English meaning, a simple visual cue, and a short example phrase. The goal is not to overwhelm beginners with grammar notes. It is to make the first memory hook clear enough that the learner can recognize the character again.
The lessons are deliberately small. A character page gives learners something concrete to cite, review, and revisit: the character itself, its pronunciation, a beginner meaning, an example phrase, and a visual explanation of why the picture was chosen.
